Ambitious private drivers and exotic sports car enthusiasts are no doubt jostling about to be one of the few who can own one of the most rare and remarkable cars in the world. The newly-released Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 is truly a one-of-a-kind jewel for any unique or rare car collection. Don’t look for this car in any “Porsche for sale” ads anytime soon.
Designed for track exhibits and circuit racing, this new customer race car is meant to celebrate 25 years of a profitable partnership between Porsche and Manthey-Racing. But those personally celebrating alongside this exotic car team will be few — only 30 of these specialty cars will be made, and only six are headed to North America.
Taking a Closer Look at this New Porsche 911
Elegantly styled with track-level performance and not legal for street use, this Porsche for sale boasts a 690-horsepower, 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six, a replica of the 911 GT2 RS. Other race-ready features include a 7-gear dual-clutch gearbox, adjustable racing suspension, carbon-fiber body components for a lightweight track footprint, and massive front and rear spoilers that tie this rocket to the racing surface.
“Porsche Motorsport and Manthey have won many races and championships since the team was founded 25 years ago – for example, seven times the 24 hours at the Nürburging. Since 2013, the two companies have been closely affiliated. With the unique special edition 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25, this successful partnership has moved to the next level,” explains Matthias Scholz, Director GT Racing Cars.
“The 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 benefits from the motor racing experience that Manthey and Porsche Motorsport have gained around the world. It is the perfect circuit racing car for ambitious private drivers, and it’s an impressive example of engineering skill.”
A One-of-a-Kind Porsche for Sale
Most Porsche enthusiasts are already familiar with the flagship 911 sports car, and some may even own one of an earlier production run of 200 white-painted 911 GT2 RS Clubsports for race day events and limited competition.
What sets the Clubsport 25 apart is its rare placeholder as the 25th anniversary marker for a solid and celebrated partnership between Porsche Motorsports and Manthey-racing. The design team included a few enhancements while incorporating the best of other well-known Porsche models.
“The design of the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 expresses the long-standing collaboration between Porsche Motorsport and Manthey,” emphasizes Grant Larson (from Style Porsche). “It amalgamates the respective strengths of each partner into one racing car, and at the same time bridges the gap between the 991 and 992 model generations of the 911. Manthey contributed the basic concept and the technical ideas, with Porsche providing the final design. We used the characteristic color scheme of Manthey’s ‘Grello’ to specifically highlight certain functional areas of the vehicle.”
Some signature Clubsport 25 characteristics include a totally closed-off underbody, and dual hood vents that direct airflow over the roof to the rear stabilizing wing. Safety is paramount in this stylized and specialized racing car, which features a removable escape hatch in the roof for quick exits, an on-board fire suppression system, a single RECARO racing seat with fore/aft adjustment, 6-point racing seat belt, and customizable padding system (no room or accommodations for passengers), and a 30-gallon FT3 safety fuel tank.
And of course, this specialty customer race car has air-conditioning for the driver’s comfort — note the small inlet in front of the two hood air inlets.
Deliveries are expected to begin in early January 2022. Don’t expect to sell your Porsche car and purchase one of these beauties. Those discerning collectors and racers who are interested in this Porsche for sale, if they are fortunate enough to get a place in line, can expect to invest at least $620,000. Sales are extremely limited and direct contact with Porsche Motorsports is required.
